Hazbin Hotel's Creator Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.
The first season introduces a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
